The Chaz Draycott Media European Touring Car Championship was a European Tour around some of the continent's greatest circuits showcasing the awesome and truly bonkers Kia Optima GTS.

The car is powered by a ludicrous 2-litre turbocharged engine that forces 375 brake horsepower through the front wheels, and due to some long gearing is capable of way more than 160mph if given enough real estate.

Starting in the UK at Oulton Park for pre-season testing, we then started the championship at Silverstone, before heading down to Brands Hatch. Then the series embarked on a European Tour littered with legendary circuits.
Across the North Sea to the Netherlands for a run around Zandvoort, followed by a trip through Belgium - Zolder and Spa on the menu there. Next we went over to Germany to visit the Nurburgring and Hockenheim, before flying down to Italy for races at Monza and Imola.
The season finale then took place in the Spanish sunshine at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

There was hope that the championship could return for a second season using a Speedway-like heat racing system but interest in the series was low, so unfortunately had to be called off.
