Simtography
What on Earth is Simtography?
Racing sims have gotten a lot "prettier" in the last few years with the likes of Assetto Corsa Competizione and iRacing really nailing reflections and lighting (honestly, look back at iRacing in 2015 and you'd be surprised at the difference!).
This means that images - or screenshots as they're known - generated in those sims look very realistic and can often be confused for pictures of real cars or races. However, this can come down to angles and camera positioning too - while it's nice to take advantage of it being sim and placing the camera in the middle of the circuit looking at an approaching pack of cars, it's not always the most life-like.
My images maintain a combination of realistic camera positions, making use of any conditions or natural lighting that helps enhance their impact and high graphical settings to ensure that in some cases you really do have to look twice. I'll often take pictures of each car in the field at least once from a certain position, then re-position to do the same again - usually near the beginning and end of the race, with incidents and important moments in the race being captured too.
I can provide sets of images for your sim racing team or a certain race. The charge per set is based on a minimum number of required screenshots and any others included are out of good will.
Below is a gallery of some of my favourite recent shots in iRacing.
If you're interested in having some images made or would like get some more information, feel free to contact me via email or social media. I'll be happy to discuss the details and requirements.
