Wow, it's been really quiet here hasn't it? I suppose with me not competing in the last round of the World GT Championship due to severe migraines, there's not been a lot to write about, and in all honesty, I don't want to become just another Page/Website writing about the bloody Coronavirus. Either way, I still want to update you on what I've got going on, coming up, planned etc. so while we're all sat around in our homes with nothing to do, I may as well.
World GT Championship
As usual, I'll be continuing to compete in the World GT Championship on Monday nights, driving the Audi R8 LMS GT3 for CQR with Pete Newman Media. I've slipped down to 10th in ProAm Championship as things stand, and it's not looking like I'll be able to claw my way back up there, but hopefully a good round at Road America tonight will sort that. Don't forget, as always I'll be streaming my progress live on Twitch from 7:45pm.
Simracersworld™ TCR Series
There's plenty of action still to come in this championship, with yours truly on broadcasting and commentary duties on Tuesday Nights. We're not even at the half-way point of the season yet and the racing has been fantastic since the very first lap. You can catch every moment live on Tuesdays from 8pm over on SimracersworldTV, on YouTube.
Simracersworld™ F3 Series
Another great series I'm glad to be a part of - the Formula 3 series was great fun to broadcast and call the shots on in their first round at Zolder. Taking place every two weeks, the next round is on Thursday the 26th from Suzuka and I quite frankly can't wait. It's been the first open-wheel series I've commentated on and definitely won't be the last!
F1 Stream Series
I know it feels like forever since the last F1 stream I did on Twitch, but I promise you another one will be right around the corner. The next race is at the Nurburgring, and despite us not scoring any points yet in our trusty Forti - the yellow canoe as it's now known - it's been a hell of a lot of fun, while remaining challenging.
Project CARS 2 Career Mode Streams
I teased last week that this was on the cards, but it soon became a very different stream as I jumped into an online event that had been organised by Camber Media. Again, this will be coming very soon, so keep an eye out for it - make sure you follow me on Facebook as that's my primary platform for announcements.
Sim Racing Series
I've got a couple of ideas in my head for some sim racing series to run on multiple platforms (not at the same time) but my only stumbling block was finding time to organise them. Now, thanks to all this self-isolating, I may actually be able to get some plans together for the future. I definitely have one planned for later in the year on iRacing (no, not the Chazlington Touring Car Championship!), and would actually like to try something on Assetto Corsa, of all things. Watch this space.
Re-brand
Yep. It's going to happen. It's been pointed out and talked about that if I'm to progress further in being professional and getting work in the motorsport and broadcasting industry, I need to change my brand name. It's not something that's been taken lightly - I've been known as Chazlington since my later high school years - but I have finally conceded that it needs to be done. I'm not giving anything away yet, but logos and colours etc. have been done - it just needs to be implemented. I'm not 100% sure on the future of this website yet, but it may just come over to a new domain - we'll have to see.
I'm hoping to put out a schedule of all my upcoming streams and broadcasts in the next day or so, to make it easier to follow and remember - there's a lot of positive comments coming in recently about my commentary and consistent presence on people's screens and airwaves, and I certainly don't want that to fade away.
I suppose I'd better mention COVID-19... all I hope is that you all take care of yourselves, and each other where necessary. This isn't an easy time for anyone. Everyone wants to do what they can, but you need to use your head.
It's been great to see sim racing really come into the limelight despite the circumstances. Hopefully it turns out to be something to help me and my career moving forward as well.
For now though, take care and you'll hear from me again soon as things get back up to speed here at Chazlington HQ.
