Formula CDM, Coming Soon!

After months of work, another new championship from Chaz Draycott Media has broken cover - Formula CDM! Planned for the later part of 2025, this new set of championships aims to cover all corners of the globe, with multiple competitions focusing on different regions.

The bigger picture is based on a driver's want to hold honours in their particular part of the world, with European, Americas, Oceania and British series in the pipeline, with a World Series to give extra bragging rights over those winning the former few.

The fantasy brands of the CDM European Touring Car Championship make a return, meaning another series where drivers are randomly placed into teams with one another, promoting a more social and fun environment for those involved, while taking away the pressure of performing and chasing results for real-world teams and sponsors.

You won't be blamed for finding the car choice a bit strange as, in the last few weeks, it was announced that the PM-18 would be dropped from iRacing Official races, in favour of the Formula 3 and Super Formula Lights. In light of this, and with the car still being a necessary purchase for the series, entry fees have been reduced to a simple £5GBP, with planned discounts for returning drivers in future.

The format will be a "Sprint and Feature" race evening, giving emphasis to the versatility of drivers, able to not just put in fast times, but look after the car and think of the bigger picture in the environment of a longer race. A mandatory pit stop looks to shake things up and provide drivers with an element of strategy in the events.

It's all due to start with the European Series in October 2025. While originally planned to stretch through to January, recent changes to weekly rounds, from fortnightly, mean that the series will be completed before December, opening Formula CDM up to cover more regions in a single year.

Take a look through the rulebook here for all the information you need, and be sure to join the Formula CDM Discord Server to discuss with fellow drivers and ask any questions necessary.
