It feels like an absolute age since announcing that I was hosting a new series on iRacing back in December, but I'm happy to say that in less than a week, The CDM Boremula 1 World Championship will get under way at Phillip Island!
The drivers all completed their Pre-Season Testing sessions over the last two weeks, where they put laps in around Oulton Park, Brands Hatch and Donington Park in controlled conditions, so that we could get a relative idea of everyone's pace in the car and set the teams for the upcoming season.
This also helps provide a somewhat realistic interpretation of the 1997 Formula 1 World Championship, albeit with Lolas actually Qualifying!
Pete Newman was quickest out of the blocks at Oulton Park with Puresims Esports teammate Jake Blackhall just behind. The Australian then went on to top the times at Brands and Donington, bagging himself a spot at "Williams Renault" for the championship. The rest of the field was incredibly close together, which promises an exciting season ahead!
The results of Pre-Season Testing are below. Click the right arrow to see more!
The first round, as mentioned, is at Phillip Island on the 9th of February, with a half-hour Qualifying session, followed by a 20-minute break and then a 23-lap race. All to be broadcast on my YouTube Channel.
Here's a spotters guide, showing the driver and team combinations you can expect to see out on track!
Everyone is itching to get going, including me and my co-commentater Jack Johns! We thoroughly enjoyed the action during Pre-Season Testing and it looks like it'll be ridiculously close! Let's get it!
