Introducing the CDM Clio Cup

After years of focusing one open-wheel championships such as Boremula 1 and Formula CDM which, at times ran alongside the popular British Boring Car Championship, it's time to head back to the realm of tin-top racing, on iRacing.

The CDM Clio Cup has been devised to enjoy the fantastic racing and slipstreaming that the iconic little French hatchbacks have been providing all over Europe for decades now. As commentator of the real-world Clio Cup Europe in 2021 and '22, I've been in prime position to enjoy what such a series has to offer, so I figured it was time to utilise the fact that iRacing has the Clio RS V in their roster, to their usual high standard.

With a wealth of circuits available on iRacing as well, with no logistical restrictions, we have all the ingredients to put together a mouth-watering international calendar - it's not all about throwing them at the largest and most popular grand prix venues, but in fact visiting some smaller, more technical circuits that can really show off what these cars are capable of.

We begin at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy - a venue often visited by the real-world Clio Cup Europe, that always provides action. We then have a trip to Japan and Okayama, before a jaunt through Europe, visiting Donington Park and Jerez, a quick hop across the pond to Barber Motorsports Park, and back into Europe for Zolder, Red Bull Ring and Zandvoort!

If you'd like any further information on the championship, check out the rulebook here, and make sure you're a part of the CDM iRacing Series Discord Server.

The series will begin in mid-June, running until early August, with entries opening to the public on the 4th of June 2026. Anyone purchasing the car to compete in this series is eligible for a discount on their entry fee, as are previous Formula CDM entrants.

Everything will be broadcast, as ever, on the Chaz Draycott Media YouTube Channel, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for further announcements and live streams!
