You’ll Be Seeing (or Hearing) Me Around

Pre-season testing for the 2026 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship has just concluded in Most, Czechia. We've seen a number of familiar faces in the paddock and new trucks coming to the fore - Luis Recuenco bringing the first Mercedes to the series in a few years is certainly an interesting turn of events.

Of course it's not just the machines and their drivers that are preparing for the season ahead - the personnel and teams behind the scenes are, too, including yours truly. There's some big, exciting shake-ups to how things are going to be done in 2026 but I'm delighted to say that I'll be back as English Commentator for another year, but that's not all.

You'll have to see me a bit more this year, instead of just listening, as I'll be stepping in front of the lens to do more pre-recorded pieces to camera, interviews and grid walks throughout the championship. I'm absolutely over the moon about it as I've wanted to spend more time on-screen since debuting back in 2021, especially after feeling I proved my worth at Misano 2023 and Zolder 2025.

I'll be working alongside Louise Schofield who makes her motorsport debut as a presenter this year, with the ongoing narrative being that viewers and newcomers can learn about truck racing and its nuances, with Louise, through me and other regulars in the paddock, opening our wonderful corner of the motorsport world up to a new generation of fans.

The main change spearheading this, going into 2026, is the more hands-on promotion of the championship by the FIA - unfortunately the ETRA parted ways with the series at the conclusion of the 2025 season but will still be around to organise and promote the always-epic Truck Grand Prix at the Nurburgring in July.

I'll be working more closely with the FIA through the fantastic team at Wige Solutions, who have been excellent to me since day one, after I was recommended for the role by David Addison - we're all certainly excited for the year ahead.

As things stand, I'll be on-site for the first three rounds of the championship at Misano, Slovakiaring and the Nurburgring, with the potential to continue my presence for the rest of the year, based on performance and of course, the promotional contact with the FIA.

Either way, I'm super excited to get back to doing what I love and, hopefully, bringing you all the action in my usual enthusiastic and entertaining fashion.
