Commentating for Sports 2000 on my Birthday!

Yes, I'm going to be spending (some of) my Birthday in a commentary box!

The Creative Funding Solutions Sports 2000 Championship heads to Brands Hatch for Ford Power Live on the 19th and 20th of September for a double-header race meeting similar to the one that kicked off the season at Snetterton in July, with yours truly calling the action over the circuit tannoy and TSL Timing.

As commentary boxes go, I know that Brands Hatch's example gives you one of the greatest views in British motorsport, high above the main straight with views of Druids, Graham Hill Bend, Surtees and Clearways. The series will be racing on the full Grand Prix loop so circuit cameras will help with that part, but seeing so many legendary corners from one place will be an experience in itself.

I met most of the drivers and teams at Snetterton back in July and had a fantastic weekend with them all, most notably a great barbecue late into the night with Ian, Josh and Ash Law who I was introduced to by my friend Mark Fletcher. The atmosphere and (excuse the cliche) family-like aura behind the way everyone gets along is just great, but the racing is still just as fierce as anything else on the calendar once the lights go out!

On top of the great action already promised by Sports 2000, there's also a huge spread of Ford-based series such as the Monoposto Championship, EnduroKa Series and Focus Cup. There's even a pair of Formula One demos on the Sunday to enjoy!

As always, I'll be documenting the weekend as best I can and heading down on the Friday - keep an eye on my social media channels (Facebook / Twitter / Instagram) for more frequent updates.
