It's happening!
After a successful couple of special events and a very entertaining first season of the Sim Racing Magazine GT4 Challenge, I am very happy to announce that both will be returning to your screens before the end of 2022!
So far there have been two Special Events organised by Chaz Draycott Media and Sim Racing Magazine - races at Spa Francorchamps and Oulton Park - which were both very exciting and plenty of fun for drivers and viewers alike. Now, there is another one in the works, and it's very different to the last two.
Introducing "SRM Events Presents Rock Around (A Bit Of) The Clock At Lime Rock"!
Yes, we're heading to the United States and Lime Rock Park for a two-hour endurance race that will pit drivers against each other in teams of two, sharing a car. To put an extra bit of spice into the recipe, the "Time Accelaration", which controls how quickly time passes by from a daylight perspective in the sim, will be multiplied by eight, so effectively, while only driving for two hours, drivers will cover sixteen hours of racing.
The event will take place on Tuesday the 18th of October, sticking to the timetable below.
There will be two classes - GT3 and GT4, limited to Porsches only - the 911 991 GT3R and 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Their setups however, will be left open, with fuel limited to 50% to encourage more pit stops than expected. The grid will be limited to 12 cars of each type on a first come first served basis.
It's completely free to enter, with drivers having to fill out an entry from here, on the Chaz Draycott Media website.
Please join the Sim Racing Magazine Discord Server for communications and further information regarding the event.
On top of this, it gives us great pleasure to also announce that there will be a second season of the Sim Racing Magazine GT4 Challenge! We have set dates for the new season, with some circuits still subject to change, based on the recent additions to the iRacing service. The provisional calendar is below;
The Mercedes AMG GT4 will be added to the roster of cars, taking us up to five potential machines that drivers could choose for the championship - the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, BMW M4, McLaren 570S, Mercedes AMG and Porsche 718 Cayman!
There will be a lot of improvements based on the feedback we received about the inaugural season, from drivers and viewers alike, to bring you all a well-rounded product that is exciting and enjoyable.
Keep an eye on the website and of course the SRM Discord Server as mentioned, for more information and future updates on these events.
We hope you're as excited as we are, and look forward to potentially having you on our grids.
